功能:Protein kinase that is part of growth control pathway which is at least partially redundant with the cAMP pathway. Regulates both BCY1 phosphorylation and MPK1 activity. Regulates ribosome biogenesis, translation initiation, and entry into stationary phase in a TORC1-dependent manner.

- results suggest that Sch9p pathways modulate acetic acid-induced cell death, through the regulation of Isc1p cellular distribution, thus affecting the sphingolipid balance that regulates cell fate. PMID: 29496584
- Findings demonstrate the ability of the Sch9 protein to form specific intracellular structures, at least some of which possess amyloid-like properties. In addition, Sch9 overproduction was found to cause cell elongation, and this effect was determined by its C-terminal region containing kinase domains. PMID: 29494682
